DESCRIPTION
Artificial Intelligence Analysis and Blockchain for Environmental Conservation and Managing Wild Life
When
Jan 2017 - Continues
Who
Client/for Whom: this consultancy service is provided to governmental institutions responsible for nature parks and preservation of wild life
PROJ 3.1: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE  DRIVEN TO ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

Identifying the Challenge & Requirements:
The conservation process for nature, endangered animals, species and environment require identification, monitoring and management of the fauna and flora. For multiple times, AKURA used to support consortiums to develop a conservation plan to protect the fauna including endangered small cormorant and the flora.
The Approach, Conducted Work:
The geospatial data including soil, land use/cover, forest stand, elevation, topographic, statistical, geological, 3D UAV (drone)photogrammetry are managed in GIS and, geospatial artificial Intelligence and machine learning Analysis are performed.
Output:
The project yields visual analytics, web services over a portal to access the results of geospatial analysis, spatial statistics, geospatial prediction, artificial analysis to make decisions on predicting locations of species, stressed flora and fauna.
Partners, Alliance:
The project is conducted with the support of academicians from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara Univ., Abant Izzet Baysal Univ.,

Geodata Enabled Hierarchical Blockchain Architecture for Land Management
When
Jan 2017 - Continues
Who
Client/for Whom: this project is an in house R&D work.
PROJ 3.2: BLOCKCHAIN FOR BETTER LAND MANAGEMENT

Identifying the Challenge &Requirements:
In this project, AKURA introduces the problem of inconsistent boundary determination in between succeeding cadastre surveys and a methodology that prevents employment of boundary change into land registry without common and joint approval of all stakeholders. The
Approach, Conducted Work:
AKURA proposes geodata enabled blockchain model, there are three components in a blockchain node that are loosely coupled, namely ‘blockchain database’,‘middleware’ and ‘GIS/CAD’. The ‘blockchain database’ handles the communication and trace of transactions, ‘the middleware’ handles a lossless geo and non-geodata transaction and ‘the GIS/CAD’ component handles the geometrical part of blockchain cadastre survey. In the architecture of ‘blockchain database’, there are three levels in a hierarchy to control and mutually decide on any transaction by approval of relevant participants in accordance with the land registry and cadastre organization as a trusted node watching the procedures.
Output:
This project mainly contributes use of blockchain technology to minimize the inconsistencies in cadastral andland registration processes to minimize the mistakes that cause claims at cadastre courts.
